How to get involved
The venue is only as successful as the volunteer parents that support us. "Many hands make light work" Never a truer word spoken and this year more than ever that is the case. We have a small nucleus of parents that manage and coach teams, carry out administrative roles required under the club mark for England Basketball and help to provide your children with a safe, disciplined family environment where they can learn all the values of team building and friendship for life.
If you would like to become part of the set up there are many different things you can do to help and believe it or not some can take as little as 30 minutes. Yes just come along and keep score for the odd game anytime you choose. Its very easy to do and there will always be someone willing to with with you and take you through the process but essentially it's mainly 2+2 using a calculator.
Are you interested in coaching perhaps. For some its a real buzz the chance to help the young ones achieve that victory. For others its the excitement of being on the bench when your son or daughter makes a basket. Whatever the reason we can help you get qualified with England Basketball. Learn how to run your coaching session or just how to run the bench it's your call.
Speaking of call, what about a referee. Probably one of the more demanding frontline roles but its great to be in the middle of a heated game and make sure it all runs fairly. Even if you just want to take the course to learn the rules of the game its a great way of getting stuck in.
If production is your line then we always need help to set up and take down at the venue. Help organise the league fixtures, tournaments and assist with the national league team. Playing with the national league team is what all young players aspire to and its a fantastic opportunity to be right there with them.
